Nice Guys at Prem Medicines,Puran Nagar,Lucknow

I had to walk to Bus-Stop to receive my kids when Bus dropped them there. When children are small like in Kindergarten you can hardly leave them out of sight or expect them to walk home. For our house was almost a Kilometer in from main street.Just on the corner of the road that led to our house was this Medical Store, and the gentlemen there were really kind to let me wait in there till the Bus arrived.Summers are quite hot in Lucknow so I was glad to wait in shade. They even gave cold water to my thirsty kids when the Bus left them and toffees too. They and their shop is still there but I have changed houses.

When I lost my way back home

Choti Devrani with her son Hemu
I had gone to visit Jaychand's wife who live in some by-lanes behind Singar Nagar Lucknow. These  Lanes were like a maze.Narrow roads that criss-cross in a confusing way,and a person not native to that place could easily get lost.I went this way and that and it was mid-day in summer, almost nobody to ask your way about. After much wandering I finally found my way to the known road of Puran Nagar that led to my home in Prem Nagar.

Weddings in India

Me in cool blue saree and my dear sister-in-law in shimmering red,my elder Brother is sitting behind us wearing a cap.Its my eldest son Ravi's Reception.
Weddings in India are a costly affair not because of Dowry but as we have to spent a lot on Food and entertaining guests besides giving close relatives gifts.Neighbors though are solely concerned with eating, they would keep hungry for the day and as soon as dinner is announced they will pounce on food like hungry dogs.Children are the most happy lot in weddings, just happy with wearing nice clothes, meeting friends, playing and running around and mostly eating "Chats",ice-creams and chowmein.Very few of the relatives and friends stay on to see the full ceremony which may continue till early morning. Its no guarantee that if you spent a lot of money caterer would provide good food. Many times you have to personally monitor them.

When my Friend brought a Camera to our Village

I am second one from left. With me are my friend Ramlalli,Urmila and wife of my youngest uncle. So this friend took our picture and I kept it since, thankfully in a good state. My other two friends were quite shy to be in front of a camera. We are in a farm field in Jagdharpur,a tiny hamlet surrounded by green shady trees. Its near Industrial town of Jagdishpur which in turn is in Sultanpur District.
